December 15, 2009 by fisheheadok so im kinda tired of people hating on this film saying its low buget and not scary. well when i went to see the movie i had no idea what it was about and i had never even heard of it. i think that is why i liked it, because it was a total shock! i think it was great, maybe the media hyping it up acually is what made people think it was going to be better. i think only the first group of people who seen it, like me, are the ones who got the full experience…
so basically i believe if people stop talking about movies so much you might accually enjoy them more..
magazine covers
December 10, 2009 by fisheheadMany of you may not realize it but every magazine cover has a specific target audience. to better explain this idea i am going to compare two magazine covers in which one has a female target audience and the other one has a male target audience. Here is the first cover:

The very first thing i notice about this cover is that the font is in a pastel pink, which would most likely be more eye catching to a female. secondly, the girl in the picture is dressed very “girly” and is not showing too much skin, which females would probably appreciate more than males. thirdly id like to point out the topics listed on the cover, “Pretty for spring!”, ” Gossip Girls never before seen scenes from the set”, and ” free lipgloss!!”. obviously these topics are more female orientated.
now lets take a look at the male targeted cover:

ok first of all i am a male, so i will tell you what catches my attention in this cover of Maxim. The very first thing i notice about this magazine is that the girl on the cover is holding her bare boobies in her hands. obviously this right away would be chosen by most men before the other cover. secondly id like to point out that there are less words on this cover compared to the Seventeen cover, probably because of the fact that the audience for this magazine are horny guys who do not care for reading as much as pictures of half naked women. and lastly id like to point out the article topics, “instant skills women love”, football exclusive!’, “on stripping, sex, and being single”. to me, these topics seem way more male orientated compared to ” free lipgloss”……….
Skateboarding today
November 24, 2009 by fisheheadI remember back when I was 12 years old I wanted to start skateboarding because it was this dangerous thing that my parents didn’t want me to do. I was a young rebel that wasn’t into sports or playing video games I needed to be out in the city getting into trouble. But now a days I see skateboarding as this wack “extreme sport” has nothing to do with being a rebel like when it started. I especially see this when I see these comercial sell outs like Ryan sheckler and Paul rodriguez aka “prod”. I noticed that skateboarding was taking a turn for the worst when MTV made a reality show about Ryan sheckler called “life of Ryan “. That show was completely embarrassing to any skater because he made skateboarding look like a sport with his intense training and his coach dad. Also just the other day I was talking to my friends and I was told that espn magazine is starting to Include skatnoarding to it’s issues. This exposure of skatnoarding is imbarrasing and makes me hate it because the media is making it into a sport.
latisse!
October 31, 2009 by fisheheada few days ago a friend was telling me about this prescription drug called Latisse. the purpose of Latisse is to generate long sexy eyelashes, but i found the side effects to be quite shocking! the side effects include: sore bloodshot eyes, discoloration of the eyelid, and discoloration to the eye pigment. sounds horrible!! heres a commercial for latisse that i found on youtube…
Anti perspirant
October 20, 2009 by fisheheadI was looking at an old transworld skateboarding magazine from august 2007 and noticed this really cheesey anti-perspirant ad for the brand “Tag”. In the ad there is a hot chick wearing some sort of scientist outfit sitting on some guys lap feeding him a pepper. On the lower corner of the ad there is a label that says “new tag anti-perspirant tested under the hottest conditions” “warning: products scent may turn already hot hotties hotter than a harbanero. The use of oven mitts is recommended before handling any tamales.” when I first saw this ad I realized that they found a really cheesey way to use sex to sell their product. They probably made this ad to be targeted for male teenagers who have a sweating problem.
